Where is the plant located and when will the expanded site be open?

Mercedes-Benz Vans (MBV) is located at 8501 Palmetto Commerce Parkway, North Charleston, SC; this is between Ashley Phosphate Rd (I-26 Exit 209) and University Blvd/ Ladson Rd (I-26 Exit 205). Palmetto Commerce Parkway and will be serviced by its own Exit to I-26 in the near future.

When will hiring begin and how many positions will be available?

The expanded site will be will be open in the second half of 2018. MBV will grow and add up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade (2020).

What types of jobs will be available?

  • Mechatronics Technician
  • Painting Technician

What are the pay rates? What benefits are offered?

MBV offers competitive and unique compensation and benefits programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse employee population. Pay rates are not publicized. Some offered benefits include: health insurance, 401(k) matching, vacation, holidays, floating holidays, disability coverage, new parent leave and life insurance.

Do I need an email address to apply?

Yes, all information during the job application process will be sent via email.

Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes, you can apply for any position of interest.

What if I don’t have manufacturing experience? Can I still apply?

Manufacturing experience is not required to apply. One year of previous manufacturing experience OR successful completion of the Trident Technical College – Lean Manufacturing Certificate in lieu of manufacturing experience is preferred.

What does the overall application process look like?

After passing electronic screening, all eligible candidates will be invited to an Assessment & Interview event hosted by readySC. These events are typically scheduled from 7am-4pm Mon-Sat. A unique invitation link will be sent via email to book an available assessment date.

What if I make an appointment for Assessment & Interview and need to reschedule?

An appointment can easily be rescheduled or canceled by clicking the confirmation link sent via email. Applicants that do not cancel or attend their scheduled Assessment & Interview appointments will be listed as No Show and no longer considered for the applied position. These applicants may be considered for other openings; the same attendance rules apply for each.

Where can I send my resume?

readySC does not currently accept resumes in place of applications. Please sign-up or log-in to complete an application for any open positions.

How do I check the status of my application?

Please refer to the My Applications section and select Retrieve Applications. The next screen will show the status of your submitted applications.

How do I create a UserID and Password?

To set up a username and password, create an Application-on-File for the readySC process. This application can be used later for copying to other opportunities.

  • Read the application terms and click the box if you agree to the terms.
  • Choose “I am a New User.”
  • In the next screen you will be able to create your unique UserID and password.

What do I do if I have lost my UserID or Password?

Please refer to the My Applications section and select either I Forgot My UserID or I Forgot My Password. The next screen will allow you to retrieve your information.

How do I update my contact information?

Please refer to the Update My Contact Info section. You will be able to make any necessary changes after entering your UserID and password.
