A Monumental Win for South Carolina

 

In late October, Boeing announced North Charleston as the site for its second production line. This represents not only a potential 3500 new jobs for the state, but also the first time the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners has constructed a commercial aircraft outside the state of Washington.

 

An instrumental reason for Boeing’s confidence in South Carolina was the proven ability of readySC™ to recruit and train the workforce. readySC™ is currently working with Boeing to establish a recruiting and training system designed to create an integrated, sustainable, site-focused employee development process.

readySC™ will work with Boeing Charleston to develop a robust recruitment and pre-employment staffing process as well as design, develop and deliver focused curriculum for the needed workforce. It is projected that readySC™ will recruit and train nearly 2000 employees by FY2012.
